About Tripsta.com

Back in 2003 I was travelling around Australia, enjoying this epic, beautiful country with her friendly people and inspiring new experiences. During these travels I met many interesting and fun fellow travellers, each of whom had their own stories to tell and their own plans for future adventures. Sometimes our journeys would fall into step with each other for a while and we'd travel together, other times we'd cross paths in the future as serendipity decided. The thought occurred to me that perhaps serendipity could do with a helping hand - and the concept of Tripsta was born and in 2003 the site was first launched to a select Beta group of fellow travellers.

The basic goal of Tripsta is that any travel is more fun with like minded people to share it with. You can't always take your friends travelling round the world with you, but you can try and spend more time with the new friends you meet along the way. By sharing travel plans and goals with your friends you all know when you'll be in a place at the same time, and hopefully avoid missing each other by days, or even hours. Plus the advantages of sharing travel plans is that you can pool resources - cars, accommodation and so on - to save money to spend on the things you really want to do like that skydive.

At present Tripsta is not allowing any new memberships, however we are planning to extend membership in late 2011. Please keep checking back for more information and updates. Thanks for your interest.
